Before Edwards Design & Construction served a single Dallas client, our founder put everything into one defining project - a complete, ground-up transformation of his own Florida waterfront property.

A Property Redesigned From the Inside Out
This wasn’t simply a renovation. It was a complete reinvention. The two-story modern structure was designed around a singular philosphy: bringing the outdoors in. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls and oversized sliding panels run throughout the entire home, dissolving the boundary between interior living spaces and the waterfront beyond. Whether you’re in the kitchen, the dining room, or the primary suite, the water is always present.
Inside, the finishes are deliberately minimal and luxurious. Large-format marble tile floors flow seamlessly from room to room. The chef’s kitchen features a dramatic waterfall-edge marble island, dark custom cabinetry, and integrated appliances that keep the lines clean and uncluttered. The dining room anchors itself around a soaring double-height ceiling with a floor-to-ceiling stone accent wall and sleek linear fireplace - a statement of scale without sacrificing warmth. Head up the floating stairs and you’ll find yourself in an airy hallway and glass banisters that keep in stride with the home’s open concept. The primary bathroom takes the same approach as the rest of the home: full marble wall cladding, a sculptural freestanding soaking tub, and dual floating vanities that are framed by floor-to-ceiling windows with a tree-canopy view.
The home also features a private elevator that adds a practical touch, reinforcing the property’s commitment to function meeting luxury at every level.
The Exterior: Where Luxury Outdoor Living Construction Takes Center Stage
From the aerial view, the scope becomes clear. A long-form infinity-edge lap pool finished in deep sapphire tile runs parallel to the waterway, flanked by lush tropical landscaping and a manicured lawn. Terraced stone steps cascade from the home’s rear facade down to the pool deck, creating a sense of graceful flow from interior to exterior. At the water’s edge, a rebuilt private dock provides direct waterway access, constructed to match the clean, modern aesthetic of the home it serves.
The front entry sets the tone before you ever step inside: a floating canopy roof amid carefully curated tropical plantings, and wide-format concrete stepping stones create an arrival experience that feels considered and calm. Warm wood slat cladding on the exterior walls add texture and contrast against the crisp white stucco, creating a material pairing we see carried through the interior design that leads to a coherent language across the entire property.
